What will I need to do, in order to prepare for my appointment day?

WATER, WATER, WATER, at least 1 week prior to your appointment date you should be drinking

8 – 8oz. glasses of water each day for 7 days prior to scan date that’s about 4 – 16.oz water bottles ea. day this is very important to help in obtaining clearer images. There are many factors at play in obtaining clear images of your little one, as listed in the above FAQ. as well as our disclaimer however drinking water is one you can help with! Eat regularly; however, try not to ingest a heavy meal or eat anything gassey prior to the appointment.  Sound waves don’t travel air.   A small meal and bottle of orange juice 20 minutes prior will suffice, this can help get baby moving prior to scan time. Remember to always follow your doctor’s recommendations. At Inner Reflections, we like to take care of our mommies and their families we will offer refreshments upon arriving and a refreshment for your family during your scan. Remember: “You do not need a full bladder”.

Is Ultrasound safe?

Ultrasound technology has been used to monitor pregnancies for over 30 years. This non-invasive procedure uses no radiation. Instead, sound waves generate a photo from inside the womb. There is no evidence of this procedure posing any risks to either the baby or mom-to-be. We encourage you to consult your OB/GYN if you have any concerns.

How do 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasound differ?

3D and 4D ultrasound provide a more detailed image than traditional 2D ultrasound. 2D produces a black and white thermal image. 3D ultrasound shows a more detailed image of your baby inside the womb. 4D ultrasound captures moving video of your baby.
